A woman from Perth who celebrated a pagan holiday on Sunday said it had brought her back to a place she never felt comfortable in.

“I’ve been trying to come to terms with the loss of my husband and the fact that I’ve lost my job,” said Ms Davenport.

“There’s been some great people that have been very supportive but I think I’m just so proud.”

Ms Davenports husband is a former member of the Royal Australian Navy.

“He used to live in a caravan on the Gold Coast but I’m still here with him,” she said.

“My family is very supportive and there’s a lot of family that I’m really close to.”

It was a huge deal to be able to celebrate Christmas on the beach in a city and to have it be so welcoming and happy.
